Comparison of traditional plastic bags and the degradable plastic

When biodegradable plastic bags are acted upon by fungi and bacteria, they are friendly to the environment because they are made out of plant-based material. These bags take a period of three to six months to decompose fully.


Traditional plastic bags are made out of polyethylene, which consists of a long chain of monomers. These are non-renewable resources and are a rise to harm both the land and marine. When thrown to the ground, these plastic bags do not decompose, leading to both soil infertility and the death of both plant and water inhabitants.
